WHAT IS IFC?

The Interfraternity Council (IFC) is the governing body for the 11 inter/national fraternities on campus. Many of these fraternities are members of the North American Interfraternity Conference (NIC). While not all organizations are members of the NIC, all fraternities still adhere to all IFC and University of Utah policies and procedures. The IFC is made up of six fraternity members who are elected by their peers to support and guide the fraternity community through the academic year. IFC meets weekly with representatives from each fraternity to provide updates, discuss current events, and address the needs of their community.

The IFC is dedicated to the advancement and growth of the fraternal community and supporting the educational mission of the U. IFC plans and hosts various programs and events throughout the year and works to ensure the recruitment process is an equitable and engaging process both for member organizations and those looking to join a fraternity.
