Fall 2018 Recruitment Schedule:
Saturday, September 1, 2018
Day one of the recruitment process, each potential new member (pnm) will meet with all six (6) sororities within the Panhellenic Community at the University of Utah. You will discover more about Greek Life, and begin to picture a possible ‘home’ in our community. We will also conduct break-out sessions throughout the day to give you a better understanding and fuller depth of what it means to be Greek at at the U of U.
Sunday, September 2, 2018
Chapter Pride & Philanthropy Day
The second day of the weekend, you have the opportunity to visit up to four (4) chapters as you narrow down your search. Chapters will share with you the commitment expected, the activities they do surrounding their philanthropy, and what makes their chapter unique.
Monday, September 3, 2018
You will be able to attend up to two (2) chapter’s preference ceremonies. This is the most formal day of recruitment, and chapters will invite you to see a piece of their ritual as they share why they love their chapters.
At the conclusion of the ceremonies, pnms will follow strict silence as they sign a Membership Recruitment Acceptance Binding Agreement, (MRABA), stating that they would be willing to receive a membership invitation from any organization listed on their MRABA form. We'll share more infomation about this step in the process throughout recruitment.
Tuesday, September 4, 2018
PNMs will report to the Union to open a membership invite, a bid, from a chapter listed on their MRABA, and will have the opportunity to become a new member of a Panhellenic Chapter. Once they open their bids, they join their sisters for the remainder of the evening for activities and dinner.
PHC will host pre-recruitment events that encourage PNMs to attend to learn more about sorority life and get any questions that you may have answered before the recruitment process starts.
Meet the Greeks BBQ - August 17 from 5:00pm - 7:00pm at the Studnet Life Center
Held the Friday before school begins, students are invited to join members of the Greek Community, (Panhellenic members, Interfraternity members, and members of the Multicultural Greek organizations), to learn more about Greek life, mingle with active members, and see how they would fit into the community. This is a great chance to see a bit into the organization’s activities and what to expect throughout the year.
Panhellenic Recruitment Precheck - August 27 from 3:00pm - 5:00pm at Saltair Room
Join us the beginning of the week of recruitment to gain a better understanding of the process, answer pending questions, and meet more women in the community. Each chapter will be present, so students can know more about the chapters before entering the weekend. Members are here specifically to help students have a better understanding of Greek Life and recruitment weekend.
