Phi Delta Theta was founded on December 26, 1848 at Miami, Ohio. The Utah Alpha chapter was founded January 15, 1914.
Through the strength of our brotherhood we, the men of the Utah Alpha Chapter of Phi Delta Theta, strive for excellence through:
Perfection - Doing our best in all aspects of life.
Humility - Recognizing our strengths while remaining grounded and open.
Integrity - Respecting ourselves, our brothers, our family, and our community.
Responsibility - To do what ought to be done, but would not have been done unless I did it, I thought to be my duty.
The Utah Alpha chapter of Phi Delta Theta supports the mission of the ALS Association.
They are leading the fight to treat and cure ALS through global research and nationwide
advocacy while also empowering people with Lou Gehrig's Disease and their families
to live fuller lives by providing them with compassionate care and support.
We support this effort through our annual Iron Phi 5k, which began in the Spring semester of 2011. Iron Phi is an organization in which members are honored with a special title for raising $1,000 through athletics and community service. The Utah Alpha Chapter of Phi Delta Theta raised more than $38,000 in 2014, more than any other chapter in the nation.
