Omega Delta Phi Fraternity Inc. was founded at the University of Utah on April 27, 2012 with a vision of creating men into gentlemen. The UKnights live by the traditional values of Unity, Honesty, Integrity, and Leadership. ODPhi is the first and only multicultural fraternity on campus, its main goal is to serve the community and graduate its members.
Since being founded nationally in 1987, ODPhi has been an organization dedicated to the idea of constant growth and improvement. We must work to form an organization which not only challenges the traditional perception of fraternities, but also deals with the issues of culture and race in a completely new perspective. Thinking out of the box is no longer an acceptable plateau; the box must now be removed completely. Although founded mainly by Latinos, the Fraternity has traditionally always been open to men of different backgrounds, as demonstrated through its "One culture, any race" philosophy.
The purpose of this Brotherhood, a Service/Social fraternity dedicated to the needs and concerns of the community, is and shall be to promote and maintain the traditional values of Unity, Honesty, Integrity, and Leadership. This Brotherhood was founded in order to provide, to ANY man, a diverse fraternal experience which coincides with a higher education.
Omega Delta Phi’s National philanthropy and partner is United Way. For over 100 years, United Way of Salt Lake has served and strengthened the greater Salt Lake community. Established in 1904 as the Salt Lake Charity Association, its original mission was to help the poor, discourage panhandling, and coordinate the multiple programs. The historic "community chest" with a broad charitable mission has transformed into an agent for social change focused on Collective Impact--bringing partners together in new and innovative ways to identify problems and develop lasting solutions.
Our mission is to improve lives and build strong communities by uniting individuals and organizations with the will, passion, expertise, and resources needed to solve problems.
United Way of Salt Lake envisions a community where all individuals and families achieve their potential through education, income stability, and healthy lives:
- Where all children receive a quality education that offers a pathway to a brighter tomorrow.
- Where the cycle of poverty and financial dependence ends and more productive lives begin.
- Where everyone receives effective health care that improves their quality of life
- A minimum of 6 Credit Hours per semester
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5
- Minimum of 30 hours of community service per semester
- Willing to participate and engage in academic, social, and service events both on and off campus.
- Capable of promoting and maintaining the traditional values of: Unity, Honesty, Integrity, & Leadership.
Membership to this organization is open to any current male University of Utah student, and will not be restricted on the basis of age, ability, ethnicity, veteran status, race, color, sexual orientation, religion or national origin.
Omega Delta Phi Fraternity, Inc. is always looking for dedicated men who can lead our organization into the future. We look for men who have potential to make a difference in their own life as well as the lives of those in their community. "One Culture Any Race" is the motto we live by, so it does not matter who you are, if you think you have what it takes to become a Man of Vision then by all means check us out. If you can work as hard as you play, and think you can make a difference, then contact us and we will help you get started.
